ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN, USA – May 20, 2019 – The Association of Commercial Professionals – Life Sciences (ACP-LS) today announced that it has changed its name to SAMPS, Sales and Marketing Professionals in Science, and that it will host its first meeting in Europe, under the new moniker SAMPS, in June of 2019.
Chuck Drucker, ACP-LS President said, “ACP-LS, which was first incorporated on June 18, 2012, is now SAMPS. While the name has changed, the purpose of the association remains the same, to serve members, who are among the ~60,000 people globally who work in commercial roles for life science products and services companies, by helping them develop, grow, and find success through the sharing of our collective knowledge and experience.”
Members, who felt that awareness of the association could be enhanced by having an easier to remember name, suggested a name change. The board of directors turned to Julian Stubbs, co-founder and CEO of UP THERE, EVERYWHERE, to create a new name.
According to Julian, “I have had the pleasure to participate in ACP-LS events and truly appreciate the aims of this non-profit volunteer organization. As such I was glad to provide support in creating a new identity for the association. The first utilization of the name comes in the form the association’s first meeting in Europe.”
ACP-LS, now SAMPS, is holding its first European meeting on June 17th and 18th 2019 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The meeting, which includes the theme, “How to engage scientists in the digital age”, will be a dynamic conference with ‘TED talk style” 20 minute presentations and discussions.
